New Entrance for Sycamore Public Library

The Sycamore Public Library is constructing a new entrance that fulfils structural and safety needs. The first stage is to demolish the main entrance of the library. We hope to have the project completed by the beginning of December.

During demolition and construction, the front entrance will not be available. The temporary entrance is the staff door to the right of the main entrance (on the east side of the building). Follow the signs.

The temporary door may be awkward for some patrons. There is a red doorbell to the right of the door. Please ring the bell, and a staff member will come as quickly as possible and hold the door open. If are disabled and you just need to drop off or pick up materials, you are welcome to call and make arrangements for a staff member to come out to your car make the exchange (815-895-2500).

The outside book drops will be closed for the duration of the project. This means that all materials need to be returned inside the library. We will offer a three-day grace period during the construction project. Most materials can also be renewed. You can do this by calling the library (815-895-2500, ext. 11 or 12), going online (www.sycamorelibrary.org; PrairieCat link), or by bringing the items into the library.

We will not accept book donations during this construction project.

We are working out a temporary bike rack for bicycle riders.
